Prof. Dr. Abdullah Öztoprak

Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Öztoprak completed his PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University College London. He is the former Rector of Eastern Mediterranean University where he also served as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. He continues to publish his research in widely-respected journals and has lent his expertise to the industrial sector, where he has worked for such well-known firms as Marconi.

Prof. Dr. Ercan Uygur

Prof. Dr. Ercan Uygur received his Master’s and Ph. D. degrees in Economics from the Universities of Warwick (UK) and East Anglia (UK). He taught at Ankara and Koç Universities; has 13 books and over 100 articles and discussion papers. He served as consultant to the World Bank, the UNCTAD, the ILO, the Turkish Treasury, and the Central Bank of Turkey. He has been the president of the Turkish Economic Association since 2003, member of the Advisory Board of the International Economic Association since 2011, consultant to the Kyoto Prize, and the editor of Ekonomi-tek since 2012.

Dr. Nezahat Doğan is an Assistant Professor in the International Finance Department of Final International University. She was awarded her B.S. degree in Information Technology (2003), her MBA (2006), and PhD in Economics (2013) from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in North Cyprus. During her MBA and PhD programs, she also served as a full-time research assistant. From 2013 to 2015, she worked as a part-time instructor at EMU before becoming a full-time faculty member at The British University of Nicosia where she served as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics until September 2016. She has published in a number of national and international indexed journals. She is a member of The Econometric Research Association (EAD), The Middle East Economic Association (MEEA), and The American Economic Association (AEA).

John Eldridge
Rector's Advisor

John Eldridge has been working in higher education in North Cyprus since 1994. His experience spans the fields of educational management, language education and teacher training. He has published and presented widely in these areas, and has twice been shortlisted for the British Council ELTONS international awards for innovation in ELT. He has studied at the Universities of East Anglia, Leicester and Aston.
